Our weariness of the continuous turnover of clothes, and the fact that garments are technically imperishable, have dictated our first sustainability principle which is anti-waste. Our first step towards sustainability was to create a limited number of pieces. We started with a precise quantity of fabric, made to order and tightly calculated to create the exact number of pieces we needed. This way we ensured there was as little waste as possible. Moreover, our excess fabric is not discarded but stored. Currently, we are figuring out how to repurpose this fabric into new pieces so that every inch of fabric we accumulated is being used.

Creating heirlooms is our House’s approach to combating the epidemic of overconsumption, because thoughtful design and thoughtful consumption lead to gentle environmental impact. With billions of clothing items created and sold around the world, we fight to unburden our planet from waste. We are engaged in regenerative practices and a slow fashion cycle where, Instead of overturning styles, we release one to three collections yearly. With premium materials that withstand the wear, our garments are designed  to be incorporated into endless possibilities of looks and individual styles. We do not discard any of our items and we make sure that once they enter a wardrobe, they become cherished pieces that last a lifetime. 

All of our items are limited edition, in the sense that every House drop is unique and will not be recreated. This decision is inspired by the concept of heirlooms. They’re heritage pieces designed to last and hold sentimental value. It only makes sense that they’re rare and will be passed down to generations of elegant women. We dream that our garments will be tokens of beauty that pay homage to the influential women in every community: innovators, leaders, visionaries, rule-breakers, and fashion icons.

House of Yamina is Dubai based and Italy supplied. At present, we operate exclusively online and do not have a physical showroom. We’re accessible to discerning customers everywhere, unrestricted by location or time.
